Probably Maybe Whatever

Benlo I'm thinking of doing another of my mini-seminars on Zheng style Taijiquan. I'll probably do it over at Embrace the Moon studio, same as last time a couple years ago. It's a nice space. Probably just like last time, if I have 10 pre-regs I'll go with it, if not probably dump it. Zheng taiji as filtered through Ben Lo (my teacher) is like no other. It's hard work and it's exacting. Most people would rather play in the shallows, I do understand. But I've told Ben I'll do an intro seminar every now and then and it's getting to be that time once again.

Probably the theme will be same as last time:

  • Principles (five)
  • Postures (70-30, 100-0)
  • Pushing (patterned and/or free, how to embody the Principles, exploration as student interest may dictate)

Good thing about Zheng style is that if you really get the Principles of practice you can apply them in minimal space and time, without the overhead and complications of long routines, uniforms, equipment and so on. It has all the micro-essence of the Yang family's and Professor Zheng's genius compressed by Ben into a hard jewel of a slick practice method.

Most likely a 4 or 5 hours total session, with midday break, on some Saturday in July. If interested do as below please:

Or just watch the ETM Workshops website for eventual notice posting.

As before attendees could be anybody from knowing zero taiji, nada martial arts, up to any level of combative experience or style background, come 1 come all. Tuition will be something reasonable, negotiable as ever based on whether  hardship considerations apply.
