I'm thinking of doing my Summer Seminar thing again this year. Or not. But as a first step, gotta figure out if there'd be any "butts in seats" as they say. Here's what I will cover if it cometh to pass:
- Xing Yi Quan: The energy-centric "advanced effects yet simple to practice" insights, protocols, key teachings and techniques in my latest hit book (yes, it's usually in the Top Five for its category on Amazon)
- Tai Chi: The energy-centric "advanced effects yet simple to practice" insights, protocols, key teachings and techniques in anotherhit book of mine. Including all the Ben Lo style push hands you could ever want.
- Yi Quan: I'll go over some of the amazing work you can do with my version of "street Yiquan" - that doesn't mean street fighting (though I guess you could) but more in the sense of William Gibson's famous quote from Neuromancer: "the street finds its own use for things". See, I'm not a certified, licensed, taxidermified Official Teacher of Yiquan. However... I trained super intensively for months in Beijing with probably the leading figure of the art in our time. 7 days a week, 12 hours/day (well half day on Sundays). I learned the entire curriuculum, twice over (that's how they do it). But the point is more the connection to my other stuff - I've figured out how to integrate the energy trainings of "internal Yiquan" within the larger scope of energy centric arts (such as the TJQ and XYQ above). Some few of the Yiquan concepts and practices are just superb as energy supplement work. But you have to know the territory to see and convey that. And I do. These will be internal insights, linkages and trainings available essentially nowhere else.
Timing: Basically some weekend (both days) somewhere from around mid-July to mid-August. But this note is just sounding you guys out. Of course there's no obligation. I know plans can change and usually do. But if you have some sincere interest and at least the possibility of attending some weekend in that time frame, give me a shout at [email protected] If there's some weekend in that frame that you already know you absolutely couldn't make, include that, though I can't promise to work around it.
Location: Most likely downtown Seattle, near the Space Needle complex area.
Fees: $100/day; $150 for both days. If you really can't afford any tuition payment at all, we can talk for need. But it's better for you actually if you just pay the standard, because you'll value and work the training more that way.
